Bio
Singer songwriter, Sue Laws and electric violinist, Jordan Belardes are a dynamic acoustic electric music duo comprised of acoustic guitar run through reverb and ambient effects pedals and electric violin run through a mega- monster dynamic pedal board.
In mid-2023, Sue was booked to perform at a local vendor fair in Bakersfield, CA. This vendor fair was organized by Brenna, who is the cousin of a locally renowned violin player. Brenna came across Sue's music through Instagram and watched a clip of her playing her acoustic guitar through an astral destiny shimmer pedal at a recent show. She decided her style would create just the ambiance she was looking for, so Sue was invited to perform. Brenna mentioned to Sue that her cousin played violin and might perform as well. Several weeks had passed and Sue and the violinist were never able to meet in person to get musically acquainted due to conflicting schedules. Come the day of the event, Sue was not certain that the violinist would be joining her, so she assumed she would be performing alone. Suddenly then, Sue's songs were dilated with a delightful volume and so beautifully embellished by this mysterious and talented violin player who appeared there to accompany her. Emulating a variety of sounds - bells, cello, electric guitar, and pipe organ (to name a few), while seamlessly looping rhythm and bass, Sue was enchanted by his skill. At one point, they looked at each other puzzled, wondering what musical plane each other had hailed from. After their set, she invited him to perform with her again in Ojai, CA just a few weeks later; an offer to which he warmly obliged. Unbeknownst to them, that Ojai gig would be a pivotal time for them both personally and professionally. Describing how she felt after that first official gig together in Ojai, Sue explains, "There was a moment when I was standing next to Jordan and I felt a clear shift in my trajectory. It felt like I had been there before or it's exactly where I was supposed to be."
As experienced musicians in their own right, Sue & Jordan have mastered the art of performing in various settings. They have performed in intimate venues, extravagant events, and everything in between. Their shows are characterized by a pleasing swell of vibrant sound that creates an electrifying atmosphere that satisfies even the most discerning musical tastes.
